Thursday’s Doors ~ OWU building behind the doors

The hazy atmosphere is
similar to local YMCA’s.

Warm chlorine scent
fills nostrils, reminding
of indoor pools at hotel
or motels in past years.

The pool is open to
races, the American flag
demonstrating where
we are located.

Thursday’s Doors are
hosted by Norm Frampton,

  1. I can smell the chlorine permeating my nostrils and taking me back to swimming days at primary school. That is the power of your great pictures and descriptions …. chapeau m’dame πŸ™‚

    • Fiona, I lost track of my busy publishing “job” on WordPress! πŸ˜‰ Thanks for this credit for a smart cap. Or your tipping your hat. Bad French but I did do much better in Spanish. Ha ha πŸ˜€

  2. Chlorine… it’s embedded in my nostrils, dermis, hair follicles and dreams. I spent so many years in these very settings that I am convinced it has affected my mental faculties. πŸ™‚

  3. Robin, I can also smell the chlorine there. I spent some time taking my son (College Boy) to activities at the YMCA. I sure miss those days πŸ™‚ We also had an indoor pool at our local college when I was there back in the 1980s. It has since been replaced and a new student exercise center built. I also kinda liked the old one, but I probably need to learn to embrace change more wholeheartedly. Great post, I love the door posts. Happy weekend!

    • Thank you, Lana! Publishing Thursday’s Doors posts and then having busy ends of week just seems to lose momentum to my answers.
I am so happy you had some positive memories evoked by my Thursday’s Doors aquatics building!

  4. Boy did this bring back memories. I daughter was a champion swimmer Robin. In fact she had 5 full college scholarships for her swimming prowess, and was number 5 in backstroke in Texas the year she graduated from high school. So I’ve sat in many a natatorium like this watching her swim. Love and hugs, N πŸ™‚ ❀

      • Not a worry I have been behind in responding and posting. It was a filled weekend. My hope is the next one will be relaxing, finally. Almost to break, then yes, a break.
Hope you have a good weekend as well. πŸ™‚
