Crescent moon between the lines

There’s something awesome about

moonbeams and when I saw

this crescent moon

suspended between the lines,

I exclaimed, “It is only

a paper moon. . .”

Happy April Fool’s Day!

If you know a joke or prank

which is fun and not mean:

Please share it with us!

Did you know between Columbus

and Cleveland there are mountains?

Can you see the mountains?  πŸ˜‰

  1. Joyeux poisson d’avril, Robin! Yup … here in France it is called April Fish 🐟 (I’ve no idea why but the bags of chocolate fishes and shells are yummy yummy). Two years ago my youngest daughter flew out to spend her college vacation with me. It was April 1. I greeted her with a long face and said ‘I’m really sorry – there’s some sort of strike going on in France and everything is shut. We haven’t any food in the house except a few scraps and there’s no wine but at least your here which is the HAPPY thing’. She was very stoic about it though I could see her disappointment that we were not going to go and have our customary first night meal out. When she reached the car she spied a big bag of chocolate fishes on the passenger seat and a note pinned on ‘Poisson d’avril’. Fortunately she thought it was funny!!! 🐟 🐟 🐟 🍫 🐟 🐟 🐟

    • Oh, my! Fiona, that was quite the prank and such fun! It was a strange and busy weekend but we soldiered on through it, like your daughter did. Sadly, ours had a tinge of blue and sadness as my son loss a friend who took his life. This day was first calling hours. I spent time with my grandkids so as not to put a complete pall on the days. . .
I could not bear to post but did share a happy time with the kids so they would not worry about their Daddy. Blessings for the joy and fishes here. ❀

      • Robin, I am devastated to hear this desperately sad news … your son and all this person’s family and friends have my deepest and most heartfelt condolences. Sadly I have close experience of suicide. It is not painless. It is the most painful of endings and leaves the bereaved with questions that, in my experience, are never really answered but in the end have to distill into the essence of your being. I would defy anyone not to be altered by such a tragedy. Please accept my heartfelt and warmest wishes and my hug across the ocean ❣️

  2. Happy April Fool’s Day, Robin! I haven’t come across any yet – apart from your great photo – I had to look twice! Well done! πŸ˜€ The big one for me was when the local paper printed a picture with the space shuttle at the local airport (on top of the jumbo jet). Being space mad I was so excited and couldn’t wait to go up and see it – when my brother broke my bubble with the date! I still haven’t seen it for real! Have a lovely weekend, dear friend! ❀️

  3. I had forgotten it was April Fool’s Day, and it’s something I could live without!
I don’t like to go about all day being wary, and with everything so crazy these days, it will be difficult to tell what is true and what isn’t.
That said, I’m sure I’ve shared this before, but this is the best. πŸ™‚

    • Thanks, Colleen. Things were off kilter but my family is doing fine, since I was in charge of grandkids, they were quite the best company. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ I mentioned upsetting news (earlier note above to Osyth) and son lost a friend. . . Couldn’t laugh quite as realistically. Didn’t want to be a bummer. Hope your week goes well!

  4. Great photo – the song is making me smile. Mother Nature left us under an inch or so of wintry-mix for April Fool’s Day, Robin. I’ll gladly wake up tomorrow and have it be spring.

      • Maybe I am too sensitive or even hypersensitive or my fear of embarrassment. I don’t like being made a fool of and I can’t stand seeing other people being made fools of either!

      • Oh, I do feel it could not be a pleasant joke, so I understand this reaction completely, Luanne! Good to have different perspectives or outlooks to keep writers sensitive to choices. Thank you! ❀

  5. Mother Nature played April Fool’s and delivered heavy, wet snow. Clearing the foot of the driveway was reminiscent of the opening scene in the movie Frozen, chopping and removing large blocks of ice. Happy April Fools Day!

    • Happy Monday to you, now! I have a bunch of things I wished hadnt happened but didn’t have the joy to reply to April Fool’s Day wishes. It was a pre-scheduled post! Talk later. . . πŸ™‚

    Winter soon will end,

    Flowers bloom ’round the bend…

    Breezes blow

    With tons more snow,

    July…winter will end.

—SORRY–this is the best I could do! –Jonathan

    • It is rather tricky with my cellphone, since I no longer use my separate digital camera or old school film camera. The phone is great for close ups but somehow this moon still shows up, Ann. Glad you loved this! hugs xo
