Summer rissoto with salad shared

Image

This meal was shared with

my youngest daughter,

Felicia. We ordered

the house salad,

greens, pecans,

blue cheese,

and maple

vinaigrette.

The summer rissoto

has colorful flower petals

as well as whole grains and

three cheese’s included.

I ordered the fancy bourbon

drink and Felicia ordered a

merlot or other red wine.

Sharing a meal makes

you feel “righteous,”

sometimes we eat

Dessert next!

      • Of course, whoever would stop by we would invite to join us in the patio! One day soon I will post our separate photos of each other, out on the patio of “1808.” πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜€

    • It was particularly yummy, Jill. I let Felicia choose since there are less visits this season to her “home” and Mama. I didn’t expect to love the risotto! It was very flavorful. Once or twice a week since we had this meal, she texts: “I need some colorful risotto!!”

    • I do this all the time, Fiona! I accidentally touch an edge of the comment and cellphone “thinks” I am finished with it. Usually there is an error and cut off sentence. I want to giggle and say, “No alcohol needed to mess up my own comments!” 🍹 🍷

    • Now is not the time to inquire but this sentence about being alone is temporary, since daughters, Mum, and Two Brains are all in your life. . . I’ll need to visit you soon to answer this. Can you believe my grandies is going to be two tomorrow? And a Double door’s post? Yikes! xoxo πŸ’– I’m on my own in my apartment, but usually either cook or order takeout. I may need to order the salad and rissoto and save half for the next day: soon. If you were close, we could have listened to this nice, younger man folk singer on the patio (every Wednesday in the summer. One block from my apartment. . . .) 😘 🌷

      • So my mother and three of my daughters are in England and my other daughter is in Kuala Lumpur. Hubble is back in the US now and I am still waiting for the Department of Homeland Securities to make their minds up that i am not public enemy number one. Or maybe I am and I never realized it!!

    • Beth, it is very true how you expressed the whole experience in this lovely way! It was so much more delicious than I expected! I was “rooting” for a couple other choices with the same salad. πŸ™‚

    • It was both of these things, so much like how you, your husband plus daughter or friends enjoy out. There was a young, wonderful folk singer performing, too. One of my favorite S & G songs, “Are you going to Scarborough Fair?” (“Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme.”) 🎢

      • It sounds lovely.
It’s funny that you mention Scarborough Fair. My husband and I recently watched a show on PBS that starred Michael Palin. It was a ghost story, and Scarborough Fair (a folk version) was a key part of the story.

    • You most certainly need to repair your space travel equipment from your other time traveling book, Shehanne and “skedaddle your way over here!!” xxxxxxx 🍷🍾🍷🍰

    • There is a decadent chocolate cheesecake but I love their freshly made plate full of beignets. They are sweet, covered in confectioners sugar and melt in your mouth. Mmmm! I wish they had a raspberry dessert 🍰 since Judy’s posts about tons of them in her gardens I have wished for cheesecake or shortcake with raspberries and whipped cream on top, Dan.

    • It was a dual purpose meal, fulfilling those two elements, Sarah. 😊 πŸ’« Have a wonderful rest of the week! I hope to get caught up with friends like you soon! xo πŸ’
