Bouquets

My first wedding to the man I fell in love with on the first day of

college was held on 7/8/78. This was a wonderful, spiritual and

mystical day for me. I was ever so happy to be marrying someone

that I believed would be forever.

Being creative and partly a “hippie” I came up with a theme of

rainbows. I would carry a bouquet of flowers “reflecting the many

colors and beauty of my friendships.” I held a bouquet with all the

colors that my five bridesmaids chose to wear. They all had the

same pattern of dress, in a spring green, lilac, peach, pastel blue,

and pink. They held bouquets that had white roses, daisies and

baby carnations.

It was a lovely day, filled with many guests who have since passed

on. The wedding napkins were spread with care, along the edge

of the white, circular linen tablecloth. Again, each napkin with those

five colors became part of the pattern woven and continued the

theme. Atop the wedding cake, the bride and groom were the set

that had been on my parents’ own cake, only a short 23 years’

earlier. The wedding cake was decorated with little varying flowers,

violets reflecting the lilac color, roses in the pink and peach colors,

columbine and bluebells with light blue and the color that wove its

icing vine was light spring green.

My friends are still in my heart but a long time since being taken off

my Christmas list and I, off theirs.  Except my best college friend,

Patrice. She attended BGSU, had lived in my dorm both freshman

and sophomore year, and became my maid of honor. Patrice had

witnessed first hand how our love blossomed and grew. I will be

seeing her in about a month up in Cleveland. It has been only

three years since Bill and I  went to Charlevoix, Michigan. We

stayed close by the Castle Farms, Pat’s sister and brother in law

own. Patrice’s home address is in the state of Mississippi.

Someday,  I hope to travel there to see her “transplanted” home.

We were divorced in 1984,

I gave the wedding album to my oldest daughter, she is the holder

of the memories and the “archives” of our family now. The divorce

was when she was only 3 and a half years’ old, her brother one year

old. Not the time to talk about this aspect! I was excited about the

bouquets…

I was so happy to receive my recent bouquet of awards from Ajaytao.

He has posts that show poetry, photography and interesting “artsy”

type materia, including musical choices, too. I have been following

him and he is a good responder to my posts, for quite awhile.

Here’s where in the world to find Ajaytao~

In honor of all of the ones listed and so many more who are special

to me, I would like to tell you three songs that happened to cross

my mind while writing this post.

I hope if you are in the mood for music, you may choose one or all

of them, to remember that you are all part of the colors of my world

in your many faceted thoughts, writings and how you brighten my

days.

“Color My World,” by Chicago.

“True Colors,” by Cyndi Lauper.

“What A Wonderful World,” by Louis Armstrong.

Thank you so much for being part of my large “bouquet” of friends!

Another One Bit the Dust! (or 2)!

I have a serious memory lapse at times or two times, to be exact!

I promised that once back from vacation, I would address the

awards that I was nominated for and given to me.

Here I am, asking for forgiveness! There were two more people who

also awarded me while I was gone, once back I recently wrote my

simple acceptance post, but Alas! I missed two friends and fellow

bloggers who put me on their lists. They both cared enough to stop

by to view my posts and join my friendly followers!

Thank you very much to:

This honorable, humble man is fighting cancer, has a tough walk

every day through this pain and knowing that might not be a long one.

Please check out his blog which has a wide variety of lovely quotes and

writings. I chose from his big bouquet of  27 awards.

I liked the “Shine On Award” and “The Loyal Readers’ Award!”

Another “forgotten” but much appreciate blogger, Samina can be found at:

http://saminaiqbal27.wordpress.com

Samina’s blog is an open forum for the voices of citizens and police officers.

She awarded me the Inner Peace Award along with a bouquet of super

awards.

Samina’s quote page resonates for me, it is meaningful during this current

stressful times:

“I can wait my lifetime and be selfless and giving for it has its own worth,

if my cause is just and honorable.”

Please check out these unique and interesting blogs that I have been blessed

to become part of my reading material and find supportive comments from.
